On December 20, 2024, HERFON proudly attended the inaugural meeting of the FCT Family Planning Committee, underscoring its commitment to advancing family planning advocacy in the region. As a recognized member of the committee, HERFON joined other key stakeholders to lay the foundation for the committee’s work toward achieving a crucial goal: ensuring the inclusion of a dedicated family planning budget line in the FCT 2025 budget.

The meeting focused on establishing a framework for the committee's operations. This included the creation of a Terms of Reference (ToR) and a detailed workplan to guide the committee's activities effectively. HERFON was also selected as a member of the sub-committee tasked with developing these essential documents, reflecting the organization’s active role in driving this initiative forward.
