How we work

HERFON remains a valuable resource and reference to people working in the health sector

In carrying out its core functions of advocating and supporting result-oriented reforms within the Nigerian health sector, HERFON has undertaken a number of activities that continually add real value to its main objectives of improving the health of Nigerians in general. These include

Capacity building to initiate and implement reforms

Evidence generation and technical assistance for policy analysis and action.

Advocacy, Information and Communication on key health issues leading to policy change and reforms

Developing a credible national advocacy organization with trained change agents across all the states in Nigeria

Study tours and overseas learning experience for Change-Agents and key stakeholders to catalyse locally-driven health sector reforms

Publishing technical and policy briefs, newsletters and annual health reports.

Networking, partnerships, and providing leadership and platform at national-level for coalition of reform-minded NGOs/CSOs
